Baby Squares - Multi-modal Events
In the familiarization phase of our experiments, infants were presented with two different multi-modal events. Each event always occured in the same port. During the test phase, both ports were blank and the infants heard the auditory element of one of the events.
There were four different visual stimuli - images of infant toys- and four different sounds. Each infant saw a random pairing of two of these sounds and two of these images. The images were given a distinctive motion that was synchronized with the sound. The infant saw each event for 8 seconds.
